1870s - Fire department chief is William Pitt Peckham 1962 - Firestation 32 is built as the headquarters for the Neenah
1883 - Fire destroys First National Bank and Kimberly-Elwers drugstore Fire Department.
1880s and earlier - Use of gas lamps and lanterns responsible for many fires. 1975 - Demolition of and relocation of city hall (excluding clock tower)
1888 - Construction of clock tower and first Fire Station location 1998 - Renovation of Station 32
1890 - Steam equipment now used by firefighters 2003 - Neenah and Menasha Fire Rescue departments merge
1892 - Fire destroys Schuetzen Hall 2012 - Station receives a $36,790 grant to install smoke alarms in
1900s - Fire department chief is Louis Rausch buildings in the community that didn't have them.
1910 - Fire inflicts damage to the Herman Anspach Department Store
1910s - Herman Anspach becomes the chief of Neenah Fire Department
1911 - Fire engulfs Krueger & Lachmann Milling Co., forcing them to shut down
1930s - Fire department chief is Howard Heup
1930s - First modern fire engines are used in Neenah
1952 - First fire prevention week
1955 - Steiner's Food Market catches fire, becoming heavily damaged
